Financial Independence Training (FIT) Program

Working on your finances is a lot like working out. It's a good idea, but tough to get started and, sometimes, even tougher to keep up. Our FIT coaches are here to help you with managing debt, budgeting, and any other personal finance goals or concerns you may have. We will guide you through every step of your financial life.

Let us help you get your finances in good shape.

Get started by meeting with one of our certified Personal Finance Coaches. They’ll ask some questions about your current finances to get a better idea of how you manage your money and what financial goals you’d like to achieve. After that, they’ll make recommendations and help you create a plan to tone your debt, strengthen your savings, and get your finances into top-form. The end result? You’ll feel confident in your financial decisions and be empowered to make your dreams a reality.

“I am more than blessed to have the opportunity for you to help me and have these services provided to me via this credit union. I love my credit union and truly glad that y’all are willing to help the customers to your full potential. I can't thank y’all enough.” – Ashley (Member since 2017)

Frequently Asked Questions

How do I schedule a FIT session?

You can schedule a coaching session by sending a request online, giving us a call at 214.327.9367, or stopping into your nearest branch. If you are already working with one of our FIT Coaches, you can contact them directly as well.

What should I expect at the initial session?

Your initial coaching session will be an in-depth conversation about your current finances and the goals you’d like to achieve with FIT. The purpose of this session is to get a in-depth view of your financial picture, which will help your coach in making recommendations and developing an action plan. This conversation may last 30 minutes to an hour.

How long does it take to complete the FIT program?

Depending on your goals, you may only need as few as one to two coaching sessions. Long-term goals may require on-going sessions to measure your progress and make adjustments along the way. You and your coach will be able to determine what works best for you to achieve your goals.

As your life changes, so will your financial needs and goals. Our FIT program is intended to help guide you and give you the techniques to become financially empowered. For some, this may be accomplished in a day, a few weeks, or a few months. We encourage you to always reach out for coaching as needed on your financial journey.

What are the costs involved?

The FIT program is a free service offered to Lone Star Credit Union Members and employees of our business partners.
